What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Better selection in management. Hire those with more knowledge of real railroading and not mechanical engineering. If your going to lead, then know what your talking about.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

The "Tell Me" campaign is a joke. When a possible problem is foreshadowed and brought to the attention of a manager, its said "to be handled" but never is rectified.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

The dangers of our work aside with having to deal with young inexperienced management and fair weather policies/rules enforcement makes being productive with a positive mindset near impossible. NS is greedy and flaunts there earnings while not being fair with our contracts.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Being humble and listening to the guys on the floor that actually do the work! Stop improvising new systems such as standard of work. Repairs vary and not all of it can be standardized. Another thing, drop the "blanket" discipline tactics. Take notice of the accountable employee!!!
