I love UP/Loup. I have/wear items and shirts at home. While Loup can strive to be the best - we are still dictated by UP. UP Execs say we are valued but actions prove otherwise. When we win - UP wins. I think bringing on Knight/Swift/Schneider will destroy MCP and close Wholesale.
100% Honest -- I had bragging rights when I told my friends I started at UP/Loup. I do not have that anymore. We are just an avg company now. I came to UP/Loup with extensive experience but UP/Loup does not look at it good enough. There is talent that is not being utilized.
I love Loup. I like Intermodal. I feel we make a difference, I love my team. Turn over is too great. So many people come and go so we do not ever get that needed experience, I am concerned what Swift and Schneider will do to Loup. I am very concerned on the effectiveness of Alinea
I like Loup. It is the best group in M&S. I do believe we work harder than any department in UP. People are going to leave because of they are going to be locked into a Sr Consultant or Mgr II. Loup needs to retain these folks as the amount of turn over is too great. No promotion ability
The upcoming pension. The pension is HUGE.
Pension is the best thing in our compensation package
My leadership team is approachable. They want to succeed.
Everyone wants to succeed. We want Loup to win.
I believe Loup Leadership wants to help but UP ties their hands
Team work. Everyone has a stake and everyone can elevate concerns.
The ability to make a difference and the ability to "own it"
The latitude to get my work done. It is not a micromanaged
My team in phenomenal. We interact during and after work. It is very healthy
My team is good. We want to succeed. We want to make the company profitable.
We laugh, joke, and even communicate after hours. It is one of the main reasons to stay
I do not think the UP is allowing us to succeed. If the UP wanted us to succeed we could
That is a loaded question. However, Loup and UP are creating a political culture the sounds healthy but it is not.
I feel that the leadership is approachable. I feel they *want* to do the right thing. I feel that they have my back.
I love my team. It is a reason I have not left and applied elsewhere. We interact on and off duty.
My team is the reason why I stay. We interact on duty / off duty. Everyone looks out for each other.
So many things that are not in the control of Loup. Pretty much UPRR stuff ...Service, price, claims, CC&S , ramp issues etc
I can walk in and talk to my Leadership at any time. I know the field does not have that opportunity. My leadership has my back. But the UP does not allow Loup to grow.
Our team looks out for each other. We are fun. We interact off duty. It is very healthy. We include our leadership as it is not a "Us against them" scenario
I believe my leadership has my back over the stories I have heard from others on the UP. Unfortunately they have to follow the guidelines of those at the UP M&S. I wish we could have a survey which address outside of Loup
Pay. However, for the amount of work we do, we should be higher levels. Sales and Ops should have Mgr I. We have to wear many hats - IT, Finance, Ops, Sales, Pricing and we have to fight for every load.
My job compared to the railroad same position does not carry the same level. One might argue that they have a larger book of business but how many of those loads are on autopilot? In Loup we work so much harder, we fight for every load and wear multiple hats to get the job done
Loup should be an extension of UP - but it is not. We should be strategically aligned. We are just a customer to UP. We are given goals but not given the latitude to achieve them i.e. capacity and price. I would use accurate metrics, gates, and trains. When we win - UP wins.
Service is subpar. Gate issues We fail all the time. It affects the customers baseload and if they will be on MCD or Aggregate pricing. We are forced to use Alinea and it is not remotely ready. We do not have reports or financials. We are operating blindly.
I really do not believe we are paid inline with the rail. Loup works our tail off ... the rail may have a bigger book of business but many of those loads are on autopilot. Additionally UP had bragging rights in the local community. "Wow you work at UP?" Not any more. It is more "Sorry"
