Individual contributors at Appian are mostly excellent. I wish management gave them more latitude to make the right decisions for the business.
1) Listen to the people doing the work 2) Stop treating remote employees as second class 3) Actually promote and compensate people in line with the impact of the work they are being asked to do.
I can't plan my work week here. Every day the priorities change. Every week I end up in over a dozen hours of unplanned meetings for fake emergencies. The company needs to stick to its execution plan.
Leadership needs to evaluate headcount as it pertains to their desire to launch new initiatives. My team is already far above capacity managing day-to-day needs due to attrition and poorly thought out layoffs. We don't have capacity to run the business and have a new fire drill every day.
