In the first 4 months I've been with Appian I've had the most enjoyable experience of my career ever. Whilst my salary isn't the best, the enjoyment of the work and interacting with my colleagues as well as some of the perks that come with going into the office (breakfasts etc.) are awesome.

I enjoy working at Appian! The company takes care of its employees and the caliber of teammates is incredible. From an organizational standpoint, it currently operates with the leadership structure of a startup with the paperwork of a large company, which does create unique challenges.

I have had an amazing experience at Appian. I am a boomerang employee meaning I left and came back. What brought me back was the people and the scope. At appian you are giving a lot of responsibility at any level. It is a great way to learn and push yourself to be the best in your field.

Our leadership team is available and approachable to all employees. The leaders in the people team specifically take the time to get to know everyone on our team and plan lots of team events to foster a strong culture.

The best part of my total package would be the benefits and flexibility. The best part of compensation would be my salary and getting paid for my experience.

The base salary is the best part. Bonus is okay, Equity is not even close to being competitive. Either we need to bump equity higher or move the amount into base and get rid of equity all together.

Equity is no where near industry standard. I feel like I am giving a lot of my time and life to make the company better but my ability to reap the rewards of my own personal investment is really, really low. It makes me feel less invested in the success of the company.

Appian seems to emphasize job level a lot in justifying compensation. While YOE/age are important factors to consider, I think the skills required by each role within a given department should warrant more nuanced compensation discussions.

The people are amazing. Everyone is very nice and wanting to form relationships outside of their departments. The actual office space in HQ is beautiful. We do lots of fun events, have great perks (parking, cafe, free lunch Fridays)

The HR mission and goals are focused on company goals, and have very little to do with the actual "Human" side of Human Resources. Too many policies are "one size fits all" that don't take into account variations in job function, team dynamics, or individual work styles.
