Its a good company overall. But the bad thing really outshine the good things. They offer 401k, vacation, commission but work life balance and getting away from work is nearly impossible. catching up on training and organization of your store becomes hard when training new people all the time

There wasn't really an interview process home office asked me very brief questions but that was it. I was an internal interview so it may different for external interviewers

I enjoy working with my staff because we all get along for the most part. We enjoy each other and the customers can definitely pick up on that vibe. You can walk into a store and tell by just the cashiers or workers how the store is ran

The same thing goes with people calling out. We run on skeleton crews so if someone gets sick or has an emergency you have no extra person to cover their shift. Your 10 hours day quickly add up to 14-16 hour days because you absolutely have no help

Work life balance for store managers is beyond terrible. Entire stores are run on skeleton crews that can barely function if the store manager goes on vacation if they can ever go on vacation. Turn over is brutal and the salaried manager is always the one expected to pick up the slack.

Company culture is terrible. There is a lot of work that needs to be done. Not even for the store managers but the company needs to look at it through cashier, shift lead or the asms eyes. Nobody wants to be on call 24/7 and thats what store managers go through.

Compensation overall isn't terrible. However, the company forces its salaried managers to work 48 hours minimum. Nothing is said if you work over 48 but if you work 5 minutes under your 48 you'll get an email. If you work 70 hours nothing is ever said and is expected if its needed in the store.
