I've been a part time employee for almost 18years.I've watched as the work load has increased not only for drivers but in the warehouse also.Yes the pay can be good as well ad benefits.Too many times because of the pressure to perform families suffer and homes are broken.Management can't get people to take full time slots because workers don't want to be pulled around like their on a string. At my specific center I've seen it over and over again.I've given suggestions numerous times for safety ideas and it's like if management don't come up with it they'd rather not even give it a thought. The breaks are always given late and the management team starts doing their PCM halfway through it and as soon as they're finished they order everyone back to work regardless if the ten minutes are finished or not. It's aggravating watching the same workers coast while others work at a pace that only a UPSer would understand. It's absurd to push packages at the speed we are expected to and be truly safe.
Used to be customer oriented, nothing but the bottom line now. Work/ life balance is a joke.
