I feel that NSH has such a big institutional name with big funding, but it does not reflect in lower leveled workers. Working in my role, I see who has more leverage in the overall work space. It is sad to see hard workers getting paid below their value and not getting paid sick days
What makes you most happy at work?
Knowing that everything is organized and everyone is on the same page.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I think they are lively and fun people to be around. Even the most mundane days can feel better knowing we are all in this together. Some of them are even funny...
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
More open communication without the fear of penalty. I feel that management can get on a power trip and not hear out the concerns that staff have that are valid. It seems that leadership can have room for error and we cannot.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel that the overall pay at NSH is lower than some competitors, for the full time schedules required, there should be higher wages to ensure during these economic times, people can afford to live and not just survive,=. The PTO rules are unlike most major companies I have seen.
