Overall I no longer feel safe. I believe there's a corrupt system inside & out. It is allowing staff to bring in contraband & give into offenders requests. Making it very unproductive for all. This company goes against the mission & vaules of rehabilitation & other services that's not being offered.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Communication, personal development & growth, & teamwork despite position.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Like that the leadership team is direct, holds me accountable, & builds my skills.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
More training, in-service, accountability, safety/defense training for non-officers, and effective screening during hiring processes.
What makes you most happy at work?
Positive mind set. Making a difference by coming up with new & different recreational programs to distress the offenders & work toward a new mind set to be released or deal with circumstances better.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I do not feel safe! No one believes in integrity & does what they want verses follows the rules & regulations in the type of environment we work in daily. There's no accountable for actions or work done & not being done. There's no amount to pay for safety it's everyone job to keep us safe!
