I work a high level pod and a handful of D/T have behavioral issues. I get feedback from D/O's that help me manage these behaviors and im learning more week by week. I believe more OJT would be helpful during academy because until you are faced with in person conflict it is hard to simulate.

Pay was jacket up for the first 8 weeks. Poorly trained supervisors who are poorly trained in leadership, threaten us with firing for minor offenses, and do not know the company policies and procedures. IT won't return my calls.

I feel undervalued because my compensation does not reflect the long hours, mandatory overtime, and challenging work environment. Higher base pay, fair overtime compensation, and additional incentives would make me feel more fairly compensated.

I feel undervalued due to a toxic work environment, lack of communication within department, hostile behavior with intentional incorrect name references, unpleasant attitudes towards employees and unappreciative of work efforts. I expect a higher compensation for my skill set/ progress with inmate

Different cultures make the world great and america is fantastic in this regard. With this being said i could rarely inderstand what my training officer was saying even after asking for clarification. My fellow staff members appeared to know nothing about the job they are performing.

Avoid petty, offensive behavior-more respectful communication to develop and maintain trust. Engaging, attentive and inclusive supervisory/management interaction with all staff not just selective few. Avoid divisive comments and bias behaviors. I would not recommend any referrals to this department

I think d/o's should be rewarded for keeping order in the facility, for example if an officer is on post for 30 days and no incidents have occured he or she should receive a gift card.
