Dr. Robert L. Barchi, also known as Bob, M.D., Ph.D. serves as President of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine of the National Academy of Sciences and has received numerous awards for his outstanding work in the sciences. In addition to his clinical and administrative responsibilities, Dr. Barchi has published extensively in the field of ion channel research. He received Bachelor and Master of Science degrees from Georgetown University, as well as Doctor of Philosophy and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Pennsylvania.
