there is a decent mixture of tenured and new employees

People should be more organized and thoughtful when planning projects and communicate productively.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
There are some nonsensical practices that have passed down through generations of employees that are still happening even though nobody can produce a logical reason why they are doing what they are doing.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I have confidence in the AASC division leadership under whom I work, but we are an international company headquartered in Japan and there is little visibility into the thought processes and activity happening over there.
