Largely a great experience. Friendly people and interesting problems to solve. There can be a bit of a crunch as goal deliverables approach and some areas feel a little understaffed. The turnover seems relatively low so there are a lot of experts around. Overall people seem open to justified change.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
Fantastic learning experience surrounded with smart engineers. Many processes are showing signs of age and the management style is not adapting to the market quickly. The company does not seem to be preparing for the current workforce to age out.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Job title does not align with geographical area's typical description.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We can do anything we put our minds to. We often have reasonably high visibility to do our job correctly.
What did you like most about the interview process?
Interviewers are very good at selecting an appropriate level of difficulty for technical questions, starting with easier questions and working up to gauge knowledge. Behavioral portions are designed to genuinely gauge if you are a good fit. I felt like the interview was a conversation.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Pay is a little low for the work. The position description is not in line with other businesses in the South Bay. Money is not the only factor. Little attention is paid to day-to-day comforts and the facility regularly shows its age. Fringe benefits that many other tech companies have are absent.
