What do you like best about the leadership team?
I like that there are new members and there is a fresh perspective about how Brenntag can continue to evolve. There are really great leaders on the global leadership team. There are still a few members that tend to resist change and aren't as open to equity or inclusion.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Communicating, unifying, and letting us know where we are going as a company. We need one top leader to have a presence and he/she needs to ensure people do their jobs, are held accountable and are respectful to one another.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
The opportunity to earn more with my performance based bonus. The company also offers a fair 401K program.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I believe there is a gender pay and opportunity gap at Brenntag. There are several programs that have been rolled out the past two years to help support women advance in their careers. However, there hasn't been enough training for the mid-level mgmt about how to pay people for effort and skill.

Benchmarking for the position I hold in other companies, I have found my salary is almost 50% less. Also, PTO is very strict as well as the flexible scheduling ability.

Lack of respect for others and no leadership coaching people to be kind and respectful in interactions. Has been an issue since long before I started.

My direct manager is a great leader and continues to make it a better place for all. He continues to collaborate with other leaders to make Brenntag better.

Safety first is our main motto, and it is definitely engrained into our culture and you can see the importance from top down. Management cares about it not only at work, but also in our home lives.
