I am a veteran in the industry, but I have not experienced until now a company culture so supportive and motivating. I feel supported to work, be the best "me" I can be, and help all of us achieve results. At Calix this does not come as a top-down mandate, from which behavior repeats. It is genuine.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Calix is so digital with information and comms. that we can all be autonomous when under pressure for time or desire to be uber prepared.
What makes you most happy at work?
Feeling that my colleagues and my leaders are supportive of my work style, whether they are 5%, or 50%, or 500% personally aligned with it.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I like the personalities of my leaders at Calix. It is table stakes we speak the same industry and business language, but it was not a given they they show their personalities and offer up their genuine styles. Those same leaders have not asked asked anyone I know to be just like them. I respect it.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
This is a generality, but Calix is a U.S.-based company, and I find benefits and values aligned with culture in the U.S. To be fair, I am a natural born citizen. However, I have worked for European companies more than half of my career, for whom the U.S. was a profit maker, but also an afterthought.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I lead by example, but without my even having to do that, my colleagues from Day 1 have proven their own belief and initiative in taking portions of work from a team list and saying they will handle it, whether 100% in their domain or partly in and partly out of their domain. I'm with them. Kudos.
