Even though Calix is a large company with 1,000+ employees it feels like a small company. Which I love, and this starts from the top when it comes to collaboration and being open to feedback. Our leadership team is always available and easy to have a discussion with on ideas and improvements.

I'm not unhappy or undervalued, I just think the benefits "could" be better. They are good, pay is good, but I would be lying if I didn't think they could be better. Better better never best is our internal company motto.

Sales Managers need to be compensated commensurate with the total breadth of their work. While we are technically ICs, our responsibilities lie much beyond just selling and really should be a formal leadership role. We're asked to do much more than any other sales role but in the same comp range.

Increase 401k benefits to 100% match. Increased lifestyle reimbursement credit due to inflantion. Education reimbursement program. RSU given to you, not just ESPP plans. Increase pay for the amount of travel we do being away from our families.

Poor communication of focus and strategy. Customer experience varies depending on who is involved in the engagement. There needs to be greater adherence to a plan and proper training around value-led selling.

Company culture is good overall. We do tend to be somewhat awed by our own great culture that we fail to recognize when or if team members are struggling, especially if they are struggling with their manager (or their manager's behaviour)
