The ability to collaborate on projects and see your impact. The results are tangible and that is very rewarding.

My leader considers my mental and emotional health and ensures I am taking PTO to recharge and maintain a healthy work/life balance.

What are some of the best things about your team?

In 3+ years, I haven't heard anyone say "No, that's not my job." Everyone is willing to help or pitch-in in some way.

What makes you most happy at work?

Being encouraged to collaborate with other teams. I actually get to make a difference to improve our platforms and systems, which is extremely rewarding.

What do you like best about the leadership team?

Not only do we review our quarterly achievements but we also review quarterly goals and expectations. I have clear and concise guidance from my leadership.

What are some of the best things about your team?

My team is quick to help out each other. Not just in a collaborative nature, we have each other's back personally and emotionally. We help each other out and make sure everyone feels emotionally safe.

What makes you most happy at work?

Working with team members and customers alike, and seeing the look of understanding and comprehension in their faces. Being able to pass on lessons learned and having them exceed beyond their expectations is deeply satisfying.

What do you like best about the leadership team?

The quarterly calls, both the all-hands and my division, help me understand my role in the company and reinforce my purpose in my day-to-day activities. The leadership team is transparent and welcomes questions/feedback during those calls.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Agile Flexible Time Off. I love the fact that I'm forced to take time off and recharge. It's not just a "use or lose" benefit but my manager has a vested interest in my overall well-being.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

I feel comfortable going to my supervisor or my VP (or any VP for that matter) and know that there is a level of confidentiality. The "open door" policy, even in a virtual setting, has been reassuring.

What are some of the best things about your team?

We can all jump on a call and just talk, like we "used to" at the water cooler. We have fun, have personal relationships, and are able to read each other and help out one another when things become stressful.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

A tie between two things, based on my supervisor's leadership style: I'm not micro-managed and I'm encouraged to create solutions without others. I have a weekly call with my supervisor and we discuss short-term and long-term goals. As long as I'm making progress, I'm not controlled or commanded.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

AFTO. Being able to take as much time as necessary, without a doubt, is the single greatest benefit Calix has offered me. I've coordinated with my supervisor and taken both vacation and personal time, learning to balance work and life. I could not have handled COVID-related stressors without this!

What are some of the best things about your team?

My team is extremely supportive. We communicate daily and are ready to help each other out. When one of us has something come up, we are quick to support and try to help out as best as possible. We are all different, but the dynamic we have is unmatched!

What is the best part about your compensation package?

The felxible PTO. Being able to take as needed, without having to worry about "use or lose" is a great relief. Not only am I encouraged to take a vacation and walk away from my desk, but my leadership has been vocal to take time as needed for my "mental health".
