What does the leadership team need to get better at?
We are a company serving students, but as employees, are far from experiencing the pain points and motivations of our target audience. The leadership team can do a better job of acknowledging their gaps when it comes to understanding our students and having a clear plan towards filling those gaps.

Have a true remote policy, not virtual first. they are okay with people leaving the company, and are not concerned with retaining talent. it seems as if they want people back in the office but not willing to force them so they don't look like the bad guy. Did not meet the moment.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I'm a contract employee and they are thinking about full time conversions but not willing to negotiate salary. Considering on how much it cost to live in the Bay Area, it is unrealistic for us to keep the same salary without even being considered for a living stipend or some kind of bonus, pay bump

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The HR team does a good job building a transparent and accountability culture that creates a positive environment at Course Hero. There are frequent in-office and virtual events, quarterly Goody Boxes, and budgets for Employee Resource Groups.

They really try to take care of empoyees. They send surveys and then actually act on the feedback (e.g. changing to a virtual first environment, based on team feedback). They keep us informed about what is going on at the company level.
