DICK'S Sporting Goods Leadership Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

They are awesome but my boss isn’t really good at talking to me as an employee because he is very ru

It used to be opportunity

Flexible with time off, and vacation requests

That they always are helpful and know where to point me when I do not know something.

Review from Customer Success Dept

Keep me informed on what is going on with the company and any changes or updates. The training and weekly meetings

leadership at dicks lacks employee developement. They wont allow anyone to excell or develope any employees especially any threat of higher potential. The merch managers are very condescending and will set you up to fail to make themselves look better. its really sickening and sad.

Review from Sales Dept

They work with you and are very active

They make sure everyone is okay

Transparency and communication from the top down

Most leads are dedicated to improving the overall attitude efficiency and inclusiveness to create a positive productive environment.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Leadership team is being reshaped and at least it seems to be moving in a positive direction.

They are welcoming and nice.

They have amazing personalities, and help you whenever you need it. They have your back and make sure you know everything you need to know.

Pretty darn impressive benefits and financial goodies. Like they recently announced we can get vacation pay for a day during the month of our birthday with no subtraction from our accruals. The thing is after regular daily shifts most of us leave the building pretty grumpy.

Review from Operations Dept

I have worked for several different managers over the years. Some have been the best and others the worst. Currently, the leadership has been supportive. In the past. management has been entirely responsible for all the drama with teammates and creating a hostile work enviroment.

Always helpful and provides resources for my success

Review from Admin Dept

The leadership team is engaged & accessible.

Their respect for employees, they treat us fairly

Theyre all very intelligent and know what theyre doing

Shannon Gaines at Store 471.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Cross-teach teammates so employees who work in designated departments can help customers after forming a friendly bond with them in their department. Many elderly or overworked parents prefer to work with one trusted employee for other items across the store's inventory. Plus, it helps fill shifts!

communication, accountability, planning, and overseeing

Review from Sales Dept

The way they speak to people is very disheartening, espically when I show up to work and do the right thing.

Understanding what goes on in individual stores

Overall accountability of required responsibilities

I think the leadership team need to get better at training new hires as well as creating an environment that supports diverse personalities without creating cliques.

Listening to and not just talking over women. Not everything is an excuse and sometimes theyre actually telling the truth. If you would just listen

Review from Customer Support Dept

Everything theres never any clearity

DSG has a very "I'm better than you" atmosphere in the office, especially with leadership. In a sense, it's a good thing, though, because it taught me how NOT to treat people.

Review from Product Dept

Stop putting employees aganst each other

not being petty and communication

Training each employee to do their jobs and any other task assigned. Managers are the least trained of any company I've worked for. They have no idea how to turn morale around, maximize the customer experience and are more concerned with the metrics that drive their bonuses than their employees.

Showing gratitude & concern for their employees

They all need to learn how to properly speak to others especially to those that are under them. The whole i cant help you right now because im head coach is nonsense. Its not like they can prevent anything from happening

Treating employees. My Manager literally threatened my job if i didn't get my numbers up.

Review from Customer Success Dept

Listen to the employees opinions

All they do is delegate. We are constantly understaffed, but they will never help.

Better Management that doesnt talk about other peoples business, status of employment, personal issues, or badly out in the open or with other staff. Management also need to be out on the floor instead of gossiping, forcing others to do their work, and sitting behind a desk most of their shift.

The team leads are good. They are always on the floor until the ASM calls them all back for meetings leaving 2 of us to cover the floor. Then when they do get back om the floor the managers continue to call them back. The managers aren't on the floor and make everyone else do the work.

Everything they literally do nothing
