It's a good company to work at with challenging problems to solve. There's sometimes confusion about directives and priorities. We are often understaffed, but the staff we do have are incredible. There's lots of work to do and it's easy to find joy in it.

After some years working in Esri, I feel the salary range and vacation/bank/sick leaves accrual is less when compared to other private companies in job market. It could be made much better.

Esri's benefits have nor been updated in a long time and fall below industry norms: low sick leave (40 hours per year), low PTO generally (caps at 4 weeks after 10 years), important gaps in health insurance coverage (fertility benefits, hearing aids, GLP-1s, etc), below average pay, etc.

Compensation are not on par with industry standard. Compensation is designed in a way to make us work 45 hours a week. People will be more productive working 40 hours with a decent pay.

As a software engineer in the bay area, we are nowhere compensated similar to tech companies around this area. I'd say I'm paid like a junior engineer when comparing to other companies in the bay area. To be fair, the payoff is work life balance here is great and the people I work with is amazing.

My current pay does not reflect my experiences of over 30 years.

Closeness - most of the team has been together for a while. Freedom to explore software solutions within boundaries.

Everyone on the Developer Experience team is very respectful. Results may vary across other teams.

Stop being misogynistic, be open minded (easily come to conclusion without considering other opinions or options), so ego manic. At times, gas lighting just to prove they are "right" but in fact they know nothing of what they are talking about.

Been more responsible for their duties and been there for the team, in general been a team player without and not pointing fingers.

I'd love to see more cross-functional connection and knowledge sharing. We have so much talent across teams, but sometimes the silos make it harder to see how our efforts connect.

Clearer individual visions to help achieve the overall vision. A lot of work is open ended, self motivated, and created. That work is barely tracked or compensated adequately.

I really like having my own office at work, even with the glass doors. I would be much unhappier in office without my own space. I also really like working from home two days a week. I can move my body as much as I need to and stretch freely, which gives me more energy.
