Esri provides generous compensation and benefits to its employees. I am very happy with the support the benefits team provided me with in setting up my 401(k) and insurance, the support Esri provided me with for relocation to Redlands, and feel grateful that I am paid fairly for my experience level.
My current pay does not reflect my experiences of over 30 years.
Esri has historically underpaid its employees. Given my contributions to the company over many years, including building the foundation for an entire product and team, I feel under-compensated.
Redlands area is a very expensive location to live and there are no adjustments made for the cost of living. Starting families is very hard and recruiting talent to the area is challenging. Making an adjustment to the cost of living and the contributions made by staff at HQ would be significant.
Not everyone that do the same job has the same positions and causes unnecessary tensions and managers need to be evaluating in the same standards instead of certain people. Also no compensation or loyalty for years in the company, making one feel underappreciated.
As a software engineer in the bay area, we are nowhere compensated similar to tech companies around this area. I'd say I'm paid like a junior engineer when comparing to other companies in the bay area. To be fair, the payoff is work life balance here is great and the people I work with is amazing.
Diligent, good vibe, considerate, smart
My colleagues are the best part of working here. I do not dread having to deal with 'that one person'. Every company has 'that one person', but I haven't seen them here.
Everyone on my team is easy to get along with and I love collaborating with them.
I feel like I can always ask my team about stuff I don't know without being judged
My team is very supportive of each other. If I get stuck on something, my team members are always available to sync and provide their expertise on a subject area to help me do the best at my work.
Everyone on the Developer Experience team is very respectful. Results may vary across other teams.
Stop being misogynistic, be open minded (easily come to conclusion without considering other opinions or options), so ego manic. At times, gas lighting just to prove they are "right" but in fact they know nothing of what they are talking about.
Been more responsible for their duties and been there for the team, in general been a team player without and not pointing fingers.
I'd love to see more cross-functional connection and knowledge sharing. We have so much talent across teams, but sometimes the silos make it harder to see how our efforts connect.
Colleagues are positive and considerate, management are stable and caring about the employees.
We have friendly and open competition, but nobody is trying to backstab anyone or climb over others on their way to a promotion.
All working toward clear goals that I believe in.
People I work with want to do the right thing right away, rather than rushing stuff to meet tight deadlines and then dealing with the tech debt
Esri values the comfort and wellbeing of its employees. This is reflected in the mutually supportive teams, the excellent human resources who are always there to help answer questions about benefits, company policies, and the like, as well as in how Esri keeps all its facilities sparkly clean.
Clearer individual visions to help achieve the overall vision. A lot of work is open ended, self motivated, and created. That work is barely tracked or compensated adequately.
