General Motors – Very happy with my work at GM. I wouldn't have considered working here, say, 5 years ago before its decision to transition to electric vehicles. I respect the massive push to electrification. There's still work to do to catch up to say, Tesla-- but the company culture is infinitely better. | Comparably

What are some of the best things about your team?

My team is quite small, but I think we managed to find a way to find niches and skills to complement each other.

What did you like most about the interview process?

It felt pretty standard. No complaints. If anything it made me look back at my prior work experieneces and wonder if I was mistreated at previous jobs.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Committment to safety-- we are working with electric materials and high voltages. There are checks and balances to make sure we aren't doing anything reckless, which matters a lot when considering that we're developing consumer products.

What is the best part about your compensation package?

401k matching rate is great. I don't take any of these benefits for granted. I think the country would be a better place if all major companies looked out for their employees as much as GM does.

What makes you most happy at work?

I think the skill set I brought forward during the interview process was only a part of the package I came in with. I've managed to develop more data science skills at my job than I'd anticipated, and I'm very grateful for it.

What do you like best about the leadership team?

A lot of new projects, a lot of high priority tasks-- I think management is doing a good job and doing its best to cross all the T's and dot all the I's. There's a lot of work, but a lot of progress too and there's enough room to breathe.
