The experience is fine except for when management seems determined to upset a portion of the people.

Fine for the most part, don’t like arguing over things that benefit the company

They try and keep everything fair across the board.

My leadership has full faith and trust in me. I am their go to group leader. This makes me feel valued. We all share the same frustration of hiring freezes and me not being able to be turned from contract to fulltime. I also like that my leadership is very intelligent and helped me develop.

probably need to promote by skill n not diversity
Review from Operations Dept
communication with the people who are actually on the line, and listening their expert opinions and suggestions. We are all here for the same reason, to make a QUALITY product and do efficient work...
Review from Operations Dept
Not in touch with what really needs to be done.

Following their own rules and incorporating integrity into their behaviors
Review from Operations Dept
need to be better two way communication between union workers and management. Atmosphere within the plant doesn't encourage input from line workers, management doesn't value their input
Review from Operations Dept
We are told that this company puts the customer first, the reality is and always has been productivity over everything else. We talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.

The pay is competitive and insurance isn't bad.

I believe that GM/UAW are always looking for cost savings, be it the company, plant or individuals. For example. Health insurance- why would GM or the uaw not want to share the cost of health care with other providers if the spouse has insurance. Look into it. Go foots the whole bill instead.Crazy

I've been there 20 years. 10 of it with no wage increase. Also in that time cola was taken away. My bonus has a cap. To summarize 1. I'm owed 10 years of wage raises 2. I want cola back 3. Bonus based on company profit should have no cap

Still a good ol boys club

More options and having a pension.

Need to implement some form of retirement. A 401k is essential to our retirement. We work hard physically and mentally to keep GM at its highest standardard and we deserve and should have a retirement to look forward too.

There are no best things if you do not have the right Team Leader. I'm in the process of rebuilding a team. Trying to undo what the last team leader did is no easy task.
Review from Operations Dept
I have a great team with great team participation

They follow directions and they show up for work on time.

we need management to listen and take what we say to heart. GM Corporate has ZERO LOYALTY to their workforce!!! While union workers preach and try to instill buy American, when the corporate GM looks for every oportunity to cost US jobs and doesn't care that US jobs create US sales of their product
Review from Operations Dept
They really just need better support from management.
Review from Operations Dept
The people would work better together if they weren't so miserable. But management like to play the divide and conquer game.
Review from Operations Dept
Active Listening Class, Rules if effect meetings. A cultural change that impowers people (much like Saturn before 2005)
Review from Operations Dept
Let the company run the business and let the workers run the plant. New rules on sleeves for example. Crazy why not look into what injuries you’ve had where sleeves could have prevented those said injuries and adapt to what makes sense. Money wasting
Review from Operations Dept
A sense of pride among workers and management

Everyone works together to get the job done.
Review from Operations Dept
We make it fun. As leaders, we still make sure business gets done but, we are always thinking safety first.

Fellow coworkers lookout for each other
Review from Operations Dept
Workforce and even the supervisors for the most part get along and genuinely care about the product we produce and make
Review from Operations Dept
I think there should be more input from workers

Labor relations ...weak investigative process( If 5 people are involved in a dispute 1 gets questioned!) Old school good ole boy networking.
Review from Operations Dept
Working together instead of worrying about our jobs
Review from Operations Dept
Its toxic. More work, less people. Everything you do is against a rule. They want anyone making a fair wage gone to replace them with sub tier folks. If live of money is the root of all evil, General Motors is the poster child. Need to stop harrassing the employees. Numbers numbers numbers..enough
Review from Operations Dept
Simply fix the machines instead of doing preventative maintenance. They you would have the right to point blame at employees. But dont make it our fault because the machines dont work

invest in US jobs and show the workforce you care about the workers and families here in the USA and not about taking any and every opportunity to ship good jobs to foreign countries..."TAKE CARE OF US AND WE'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU"
Review from Operations Dept
A culture where employees are cursed At commonly. Jobs are so overloaded that Team Leaders work in station most of the day. Everyone in Mgmt wants the BPD board to be a tool but no one has time to participate because of the job demands
