So far it's been very good. I purposely avoid all the negativity and complaining members that consumes the plant. I look forward to coming in to work every day and I am proud of being a part of building such an iconic product.
What did you like most about the interview process?
It was relaxed and comfortable.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Me and the handful of team members like me that do not complain.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Very focused on the product and completing the current project on time and under budget.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
My family is able to have fantastic healthcare that does not cost us anything. I am thankful our UAW has negotiated this for us.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Learning people skills. How to handle conflict amongst team members. Treating members fairly. Treat team members with respect and not so much like a number.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We are a small group that cares about the product. We love what we do and we want the best quality product to reach the end user with confidence that the customer will be 100% satisfied.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
There's way too much to discuss on this topic and no where near enough room to type it out. Just know, there's a lot of big problems and no one seems to want to do what it takes to fix it.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
People need to care. When they care, they are pleasant to be around. They are more apt to do what it takes to make quality better. Generally, they are more fun to work with and they aren't being negative and spreading negativity.
What makes you most happy at work?
I have to work somewhere. I love the fact that I get to build America's premier sports car! I am thankful for the benefits I receive and the opportunity to get to be a leader to ensure that we put out a product to be proud of.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I appreciate the current benefits I do have but I am aware that the company can provide more for us. It is complicated, but I hope the UAW and GM can come to an agreement that the workers should be compensated with more job security and monetary benefits.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Too much conflict between mgmt and members. Too much conflict between members. Some way some how we all need to come together on the same page and treat each other with dignity and respect. Management needs to quit being so hard-nosed and be more flexible. Members need to stop being obstinate.
