Briefly describe your overall experience at your company

Company culture is going downhill. Pay scale is not matching local rates. There is very little incentive for hard work. There is a general feeling of disengagement over the last year.

Briefly describe your overall experience at your company

Decent work life balance and great teammates let down by directionless management, poor pay and benefits packages, lack of transparency, lack of clarity on opportunites for advancement.

Briefly describe your overall experience at your company

Employees are undervalued. Lots of talk about how to improve things but little meaningful action. Plenty of spin on how negative things are actually good. The two main positives in the past were coworkers and work/life balance, but the balance is very team dependant, some are overworked.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Team spirit, good humour in tough times.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Transparency, better communications, improve salary package.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

My coworkers. Even in tough times we maintain a good attitude.

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?

Underappreciated, underpaid, lacking direction, execs not being held accountable, lack of transparency.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Base salary and TC more in line with salary reports in this region.

What makes you most happy at work?

Putting my best effort into tasks, helping to grow the junior members of my team.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Everyone is hard working, communicative and we're all happy to get involved and help each other out across teams.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

My peers, my direct teammates, my immediate manager. Not to be confused with higher level exec team and other management.

What makes you most happy at work?

The ability to get involved with teams outside my usual role, and the ability to innovate methodologies and processes within my department.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Great cammaraderie. I've been here a long time, worked with a wide range of people and can't say I've had a meaningfully bad experience with anyone internally.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

The pay scale is extremely low for the level of responsbility in the role. This has been true for years now, even as the company brags about financial success.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

The compensation package is ~25-30% below benchmark for salary surveys in this region. The pay needs to improve substantially. Other benefits keep being removed or decreased, below what is offered in other companies.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The people are all wonderful. The company puts an emphasis on exercise and making sure we don't overwork and burnout out. Although sometimes we aren't given the support to take that time with difficult customers.

What are some of the best things about your team?

Everyone can be themselves. Everyone is supportive. There's real team spirit and collegiality. "Collegiality" is a company buzz word, but I can honestly say the culture embodies it. Not everything is perfect, but the people are genuinely fantastic.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Evaluating fair salary. Being continually told that the company is doing extremely well and breaking financial targets is frustrating when it goes along with messages that pay will continue to be below average, and that skilled people leaving is somehow good.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Salary packages here fall 20-30% below average for this sector. This is backed up by every available salary index, and also anecdotally when comparing with peers working elsewhere. There's no way to make this better other than to address it. Even 5% below average would be acceptable.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

The salary, LTI and bonus is at the lower end or below salary bands in all national salary guides. This is despite excellent feedback from my manager in all years I've been with Guidewire. I have no clear way on how to have my efforts reflected in a higher salary other than to "keep doing as I am."
