I can tell there is a real consideration for individual staff/people at Guidewire.
A need to address toxic working relationships between operational teams. I believe this is being caused mostly by individuals in director position.
My direct team is very good. But I feel outside of this we have some very serious procedural and managerial issues with being able to work with other teams.
I personally am in a strange position where my manager wants to promote me but cannot until the August window, why is there such a rule?. Canadian PTO is very low compared to other countries in Guidewire and other tech companies. RRSP company contribution is extremely low.
I believe there are individuals in higher management roles in operations that are making the working environment very toxic. Engineers should not be in a position where they are scared to reach out to other teams for fear of being shouted at on zoom calls by directors.
