I've been here 10 years and continue to grow. I do feel it has stalled a bit recently, so my enthusiasm is maybe not as high as it once was. I particularly see not enough attention paid to junior employees and paying them competitively. I think we'll have talent issues because of it.
What are some of the best things about your team?
They're relatively all new to Guidewire compared to myself and offer some new ideas.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I find our medical benefits to be competive. I love the work from home stipend and wish there was more of that.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
I think we do a bad job to defining ownership, I think there is too much consensus-building and it really slows down progress.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
It still feels like every employee is indoctrinated in our company values of collegiality, rationality, and honesty. I hope the company continues to really embrace that.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They are all rational, empathetic leaders who are not afraid to touch controversial topics and world events. I love that they acknowledge the world around us and its impact to our jobs, no matter how indirect.
