Unfortunately my experience at Guidewire has been overwhelmingly negative. I was lied to about the job I was offered. I was not given any ability to transfer to job which matches what I thought I was hired to do. Then I was also told I had to go back to office after I was hired to be remote.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Pay and benefits are comparable for a tech company our size.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
Get rid of the command and control management style pretty much everywhere in the company. Also need to replace some of our sr. management who create that culture by their actions.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Our team truly tries to meet its objectives. The issue is all the red tape and bureaucracy within the culture of PDO that makes moving forward easy. This can all be attributed to Diego.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Being honest. The whole back to office thing was handled in a totally dishonest way. Leadership team does NOT seem to take employees feedback/ideas into pretty much any decision. They just make it on their own. Total command and control culture here.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Way too focused on VPMOM goals as the letter of the law and not the 'spirit' of the VPMOM goal. So we end up creating reports or doing meaningless process for process sake just to make it so we can say we achieved a VPMOM goal at times. So crazy to me!
