HCA bought out Mission Health System in Asheville, NC and subsequently destroyed a respected entity in the community. While posting record profits, and treating their staff horrible during the pandemic, they tore out the soul of the place.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
Servant Leadership. Patients and their caregivers > profits and Magnet Status.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
If HCA spent half as much in increasing salaries as they in attorneys trying to unsuccessfully union bust the situation would be exponentially closer to equitable work for equitable compensation. Alas, they didn't, and that ship has sailed.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Please don't refer to" leadership team" as no one in the C-suite could lead themselves out of the open end of a paper bag. Read every book on servant leadership the can get their hands on then go apologize to your staff and actually put your patients before your profit margins.
