Jo-Ann Stores Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

NA: this is a 2nd job for me. I just want the hourly pay.

I think that it is adequate

I have the 401k only

Review from Sales Dept

Don't have one at this time

Review from Sales Dept

Being paid directly into my bank account

Makes going to the doctor mildly affordable

Health insurance is good plan

I appreciate everything about my compensation package

Health and wellness are good to know

That we know when we will be paid and that our part of SSI and other regulated issues are taken care of.

401k match is pretty good

i am only part time i do not have a benefits package

Opportunity for bonuses quarterly and annually

Vision program provides a lot for a small amount of money

The employee discount can be used on basically anything in store, which is soooo helpful when making big purchases or even for small things like grabbing a drink from the queue because you forgot one at home and you're thirsty on break.

Solid health insurance, vision is great.

20% off all purchases, including circuit

Review from Sales Dept

I like the potential for bonuses, and I think that the benefits are okay. The match on the 401(k) and the options there are really good.

It was not as good as similar companies.

Review from Operations Dept

I teally do not know

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

while being better than my states minimum wage, 10 dollars an hour is simply no longer enough to survive on.

Not going to say at this time

They hire at less than 9 an hour for team leadership positions and have no way of contacting hr. There are so many safety violations in my store alone

Compared to other craft stores, JoAnn pays quite low. Crews are incredibly small, often with one cashier and one manager closing. Two people closing and running a store, but one gets paid minimum wage. Either fully man the stores, or raise the pay.

Loyal employees or those with more than a year of working there are not compensated fairly at all. I've been employed there 5 1/2 years and make just above minimum wage. New employees get paid the exact same amount I do. Employees hired after me, working the same, make more money.

You dont let us have enough employees to stock or run the store!!!! This is a high volume store and a high crime store! You put us in danger everyday!!!

If everybody communicated to each other, we would make everything a lot smoother goes for kindness as well not being told her you're not going fast enough not talking down on people

I feel totally undervalued by this company. I work so hard but it feels like it doesn't even matter.

I was fired for sticking up for a team member and lied to numerous times

I was told I would get a raise at the beginning of the year, but that did not happen. I do more work than anyone else and they're getting paid a lot more than I am to stand around.

Higher Wages for Work Compensation -was asked to stay later than my shift multiple times by my Hiring Manager -Communication was very poor amongst the Hiring Team, they did not know how to Complete the Onboarding Modules and would not remember to give me my check.

Stores are constantly understaffed on a daily basis, one person to run each station and a manager are semi-often the only people present; sometimes a fourth person helps but its still difficult to do store tasks since working with customers becomes a priority.

I would feel better if we we're properly staffed or if our hours and/or wages were modified to accommodate said staff shortage

Being recognized, and appreciated for my strengths.

Benefits are not competitive with current job market. Pay is about average.

Get treated like a item not a person

Management that's competent and actually works instead of sitting in the office. Not having to unload trucks for 5 hours straight every Tuesday ( breaks are a good thing). Maybe make enough money to actually afford the "benefits" this company offers.

Ensuring stores have the hours they need. It isnt feasible to do the planograms and run the stores in the hours they give us while keeping our customer service scores and satisfaction up.

If Joann corporate administration would make an actual effort to improve work conditions and pay employees fairly rather than prioritizing cutting hours, morale would be higher and team members might care more about doing a good job. The current conditions make being genuinely friendly a challenge.

The compensation does not match the workload.
