Johnson Controls Compensation Employee Reviews

What is the best part about your compensation package?

Fair, commensurate with my experience

everything in the salary structure.

Review from Operations Dept

I believe it is fare and customizable to fit your needs.

Great insurance and paid time off

It is fair with market conditions

Review from Sales Dept

Base salary with annual bonus.

JCI paid more than market average

Benefits are the best for me

401k with match and company truck for all travel including to and from work

The food compensation and insurance benefits

The checks dont bounce yet

Review from Engineering Dept

Compensation is within market parity.

Bonus and commission structure can be lucrative

On time payment. Three years vesting period for stock. Mix of RSU and options.

Health savings account and good benefits

Incentive offered here are best in the industry

good insurance. good premiums. fair benefit package. vision and dental are reasonable too

The compensation and benefits are above par.

6% DPSP match from the start, plus will pay education fees up to $7500/year

Overtime and 3 hour minimum.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Incentive plans consistently changing without knowledge.

Stock plan for all employees woukd be good. Bonuses for evrryone wojkd be good. A clear PTO plan would be good.

They are lowering sales team pay by over 50%

Sr. Management changed compensation plan for following FY by paying 22% of commissions owed. Answer: Pound sand, sue, or take a hike.

Review from Sales Dept

The recent changes to compensation plans have shown that JCI no longer values their sales employees.

Appreciation and being paid on time. Increase communication. Get rid of all the red tape.

'Merit' increases are a dumpster fire in general

Experience and years of professional product development

Laying off critical team mates is a disaster.

I feel that the base salary isn't up to par and that the bonus structure is a little confusing/vague. I wish it was more easily understood and straightforward.

Review from Sales Dept

Because of lack vertical growth and no salary correction offered with various reasons every time hence feels undervalued.

In general, everyone here is underpaid compared to market rates. The salaries need to be more competitive to attract talent and retain talent. There's no pension, the 401k only matches 2%, and the insurance is next-to-worthless.

Lack of pay parity. People promoted based on relationships not value or contributions.

Long story would rather talk to someone

avg medical and 401k basic

Company pays low. Can be hard to work with.

Proper work life balance and backup planning should be there

Currently meeting/ exceeding all objectives and still no development plan, relatively small merit increases, and terrible insurance.

Give employees raises that are larger than inflation

training and being better valued
