McMaster-Carr Leadership Employee Reviews

What do you like best about the leadership team?

We seemed to be well positioned in the marketplace

They are approachable and want you to succeed.

They do listening sessions with employees

they are very helpful and informative

Cares about work life balance and my development

The leadership team has great communicaton

Managers are trained to be great at managing people and projects. McMaster-Carr hires smart and talented people and trains them to become great leaders.

Communicative and considerate. Also mostly transparent

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Stop pschologocically and emotionally abusing your employees. You are fostering a dangerous culture and you are damaging the mental health of your employees. Do you really think it's a good idea to treat your employees the way you do? Do you honestly think people won't talk about those things?

Promoting from within, responding promptly to feedback, making employees feel heard

Just about everything needs to be restructured

Listening to staff. They have surveys and meetings, but they don’t actually really listen to what we tell them. Staff is on the front line every day, but management is dismissive when we express our experience. It’s like working in a dystopian environment where you’re being gaslighted ever

A culture of fear permeates throughout the organization. Unfortunately, not much has changed over the years. Management should be held accountable for fixing a culture of fear rather than people in the operation being told month after month that something might change.

Terrible, toxic culture with a lack of constructive feedback
