Working with Patrick Byrne is like getting to work with visionary. But most visionaries are jerks. He seems to really care about people. The merchandising team is better than at any retailer company I ever worked for.

My personal experience with my managers has been excellent. They are very understanding and always willing to help guide me in the right direction if needed. I have learned a lot from them and continue to do so. The executive team care about the employees, and are dedicated to Overstocks success.

What is the best part about your compensation package?
They say that overall we run above market. My pay seems to be at market. The benefits are great. Onsite health care is fantastic and everyone uses it.

The amount of PTO and insurance is great.

The best part of the compensation package are the many options within the benefits to choose from. This is definitely a positive (Such as gold investments). I do think that OSTK could compensate some of their employees better in regards to pay, but the culture and environment make up for it.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I'd like to have more stock options. Better PTO as well.

Everyone is genuinely nice and accommodating. Very helpful and they want you to succeed.

The team I work on are friendly, accommodating, and work together well. They care about one another and although we have high expectations, it is encouraging to know that we have each others back to ensure we make progress together. Even through stressful situations, they still support and help.
