Raising Cane's – Cane's is a mixed bag. Higher ups give many holidays off and do cool things for the crew. But hours are long and my managers don't give breaks unless we close, because my state doesn't require them. GM micromanages and doesn't follow standards. I see him often pull food from fryers a minute early. | Comparably

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

People can joke around and have a fun time with each other and managers. Occasionally we get donuts, pizza, or other treats.

What did you like most about the interview process?

The OM was kind during the hiring process and communicated effectively what would be expected of me. Things were also light, with the GM talking about pop culture of the time.

What do you like best about the leadership team?

They've done awesome things for us crewmembers, like taking pay cuts to prevent layoffs during the Covid shutdown. There are many contests and prizes they offer when we take part in the "Cane's Culture."

What makes you most happy at work?

Days where the workload is spread amongst everyone and we effectively work together to keep things flowing. It helps when people aren't at each other's throats and the managers are also taking part and having a good time.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

Despite the managers saying I'm one of the hardest workers, I get micromanaged and the slightest mistake seems go be a mountain. Other employees and managers don't try to follow standards as closely and nothing is done, and I don't get breaks. I just want breaks and to not have an angry, rude GM.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Most don't put effort into what they do or finishing the extra tasks for their stations. I have a good time with some of them, but many dislike and irritate each other, making things hostile. We need to be more understanding and patient and work harder to learn how we should be working our stations.
