I started off with a love for REI I thought would never leave, unfortunately I have learned not all store managers are equal in there enthusiasm about REI and helping individuals grow.

There desire to learn more and attempt to be great!

They are always looking to try new things and find ways to improve!
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Their vision, they desire to be great - to be the best. Some store managers do an incredible job at living and promoting the REI Vision.
What would you most like to see improved at your company?
Some in the company are stuck in 'old management' styles and need to adjust or move out of the way. They are hurting growth and development for many in the company and do not align with the way REI is doing things now.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Work life balance is not a thing for the managers in my area, many of us max out on vacation due to the inability to take time off. In writing they ask us to stick to 40 hours, but when the job isn't done in the time allotted you risk getting written up. My advice, live what you preach.
