A place where you are inspired to live a lifestyle outdoors and inspire others to go further
Review from Sales Dept
I have never had the pleasure of working in such a mindful and happy environment.
Review from Sales Dept
The leaders care genuinely about the employees. They give you ownership in projects and don't micro manage. They have your back and support you 100% if you are a good employee.
Review from Sales Dept
They not only push us to work harder but to represent and inspire our co-op members as they inspire us
Review from Sales Dept
Fairly friendly , handle difficult customers well
Review from Sales Dept
That they show up to work
Review from Sales Dept
They tend to think about the long term results and effects of their decisions.
Review from Sales Dept
They've lost their passion. It's a McJob.
Review from Sales Dept
If I stopped working for just a moment out of an 8 hour day standing on concrete, a manager would suddenly appear from the back to tell me to get back to work. This place felt like a cult, I heard several other coworkers use that exact word. They could use something called compassion.
Review from Sales Dept
Engaging and not focusing on how employees work with them directly, but on how they serve member owners and that relationship. Also on how they treat eachother and encourage a workplace that's inviting, safe and joyful.
Review from Sales Dept
communication amongst everyone needs to improve
Review from Sales Dept
I'm not really sure if?
Review from Sales Dept
The pay is great aling with the benefits and opportunities REI provides
Review from Sales Dept
You can still get the benefits as a part time employee
Review from Sales Dept
Vacation time and retirement contributions
Review from Sales Dept
The health and retirement eligibility is available very quickly after employment starts.
Review from Sales Dept
There is a tendency to not accommodate needs of employees.
Review from Sales Dept
Pay should be higher with the limited benefits that are offered
Review from Sales Dept
Work life balance is not a thing for the managers in my area, many of us max out on vacation due to the inability to take time off. In writing they ask us to stick to 40 hours, but when the job isn't done in the time allotted you risk getting written up. My advice, live what you preach.
Review from Sales Dept
We all hate working there equally.
Review from Sales Dept
My team cares, a lot. They're well-informed, hard-working, respectful, fun, and nature lovers. People don't realize how much REI employees practice what they preach and work behind the scenes to make the shopping experience what it is.
Review from Sales Dept
They are nice and deserve better than this place
Review from Sales Dept
Nature connection, focus on being outdoors and the learning environment. Also the customers often are a delight.
Review from Sales Dept
Compassion, enthusiam, and support towards everyones goals!

I don't know if I can say anything, because I believe the companies lost its values.
Review from Sales Dept
Everyone is collaborative, managers are supportive, and coworkers are respectful, kind, and cool people. Everyone comes together to make the store a better place.
Review from Sales Dept
The acceptance and goal to always do better
Review from Sales Dept
We are are about the customer experience at the store with our sales staff selling the positives of being outside.
Review from Sales Dept
Coworkers, casual attire, discounts, mostly nice customers
Review from Sales Dept
Feedback from employees and doing what we communicate, interacting with customers via chauk biards, maps etc
Review from Sales Dept
Everyone. It is deeply flawed but mainly managers and corporate need to stop looking at employees at "green vests" and acknowledge them and actual human beings who are only working here to pay our rent, not to expand the CONSUMER(not for the workers) "co-op"
Review from Sales Dept
Inclusiveness, not the faceplate kind but a true branding from the inside out.
Review from Sales Dept
A store manager who wants to work at our location, regularly told why she didn't want to work at our location. More diversity and inclusion, along with accountability for and from our district manager
Review from Sales Dept
It mainly was about how I would fit in with the REI and my outdoor activities esp specialties
Review from Sales Dept
My particular interviewer was good
Review from Sales Dept
it was one on one.
Review from Sales Dept
They were more interested in my ability to grow than what experiences I had at other jobs.
Review from Sales Dept
met with a variety of managers and was able to ask about things which concerned me without feeling as though I was sounding negative

Review from Sales Dept
Nature and Action Sports Experience . Also learning
Review from Sales Dept
connecting with customers who are new to outdoor activities and helping them find what they may need
Review from Sales Dept
Most of us like our jobs and the environment in which we work
Review from Sales Dept
We are investing in people. We are investing in making the customer experience easier.
Review from Sales Dept
Everything y'all have a lot of work to do if you want happy workers. Employees at my store said they were unhappy with how things were being run and the store manager told them they were wrong for feeling that way. Work on listening skills
Review from Sales Dept
Department workload and expectations unrealistic, staff better and farm out some of our responsibilities to other departments, it’s unfair
Review from Sales Dept
It's Values, Culture and vision!
Review from Sales Dept
Some in the company are stuck in 'old management' styles and need to adjust or move out of the way. They are hurting growth and development for many in the company and do not align with the way REI is doing things now.
