What do you like best about the leadership team?
The leaders care genuinely about the employees. They give you ownership in projects and don't micro manage. They have your back and support you 100% if you are a good employee.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?
They've lost their passion. It's a McJob.

If I stopped working for just a moment out of an 8 hour day standing on concrete, a manager would suddenly appear from the back to tell me to get back to work. This place felt like a cult, I heard several other coworkers use that exact word. They could use something called compassion.

Engaging and not focusing on how employees work with them directly, but on how they serve member owners and that relationship. Also on how they treat eachother and encourage a workplace that's inviting, safe and joyful.

There is a tendency to not accommodate needs of employees.

Work life balance is not a thing for the managers in my area, many of us max out on vacation due to the inability to take time off. In writing they ask us to stick to 40 hours, but when the job isn't done in the time allotted you risk getting written up. My advice, live what you preach.

We all hate working there equally.

My team cares, a lot. They're well-informed, hard-working, respectful, fun, and nature lovers. People don't realize how much REI employees practice what they preach and work behind the scenes to make the shopping experience what it is.

I don't know if I can say anything, because I believe the companies lost its values.

Everyone. It is deeply flawed but mainly managers and corporate need to stop looking at employees at "green vests" and acknowledge them and actual human beings who are only working here to pay our rent, not to expand the CONSUMER(not for the workers) "co-op"

Everything y'all have a lot of work to do if you want happy workers. Employees at my store said they were unhappy with how things were being run and the store manager told them they were wrong for feeling that way. Work on listening skills

What would you most like to see improved at your company?
Some in the company are stuck in 'old management' styles and need to adjust or move out of the way. They are hurting growth and development for many in the company and do not align with the way REI is doing things now.
