I really enjoy working for Momentive. My very first day at the company, I was able to meet the CEO who seems very compassionate and kind. It made me feel like I was wanted and that I was going to make a difference at the company.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The people who make the work culture a lot better.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The coverage of the compensation package is extensive. Almost everything is covered 100%.
What are some of the best things about your team?
They are intelligent and friendly. However, in the remote world it's hard to get to know anyone else from any other team.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They are friendly and willing to help when needed. They treat their employees with compassion and empathy which is greatly needed and appreciated during the pandemic.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I like how the company really embraces the ethnic diversity of the employees. Celebrations are highlighted and sometimes we have events that are themed around the holidays.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is very supportive and extremely collaborative. We meet frequently so I never feel like I am ever alone even though we have all been on lock down for over a year.
What makes you most happy at work?
I really enjoy my team and also enjoy taking part in group zoom meetings which focuses on building on my skill sets. It makes me feel like I have the chance to build a career at the company for the future.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
My director is extremely rude, direct and insensitive. When I have approached this conversation in the past with my manager, they have made an excuse for him, stating that that is just the way he speaks. I didn't realize that "mansplaining" was actually an approved way to speak towards employees.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Our sales team are praised constantly and every other department is overlooked. It's hard to work for a company in which one does not know if they are even valued, working at this company. Also, the amount of swag and little gifts are not a good reason to not pay us better.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
The leadership team needs to think more positively towards their employees. As much as the company likes to believe they are DEI friendly, but from witnessing how POC are treated within the company, it's fair to say that there is a reason why we need a DEI team, as not everyone is treated fairly.
