The New York Times Outlook Employee Reviews

What makes you most happy at work?

I enjoy working with such smart, passionate people. I appreciate the impact we make. I love the product.

Review from Product Dept

Being able to gain real world experience as an intern

Many of our peers are dedicated to the Times. It feels good to have a workplace that my values are aligned with the company values. However the new CPO is very self serving and contradicts these values.

Review from Product Dept

My team mates; working toward the mission; having an impact on global & national journalism; hopefully making impact for my coworkers as well. They are great.

Review from Product Dept

My ability to do my job and be appreciated.

Ability to be yourself and great building

The people are engaging to talk to

Review from HR Dept

Getting to see my ideas and work take shape.

Review from HR Dept

Ownership of my product's and team's destiny and involvement in employee-driven initiatives.

End the rampant discrimination, end red-tape, stop promoting class pets that don't have any skills

What do you like best about your company?

The people. And the books.

Review from Product Dept

What would you most like to see improved at your company?

Would love to see a less hierarchal structure or more autonomous way to create product; barring that some consistency of message around *how* product is built from our executives would be appreciated as this is an uphill battle without their support.
