What are some of the best things about your team?
Very young (primarily early 20s to mid-30s), highly intelligent and motivated. Deeply care about people and world in general. Socially conscious and open-minded. Willing to take risks and try new things.
What makes you most happy at work?
Interacting with the public who participate in our user research studies. Exchanging anecdotes with colleagues; laughing together and enjoying the camaraderie. Knowing that what I do makes a positive difference in people's lives.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
We can offer constructive criticism of our colleagues and/or suggest changes to processes and know they'll be considered without negative repercussions. Hard work is acknowledged and appreciated. We get a say in which projects we work on. We're challenged and supported by senior leaders.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I met with the two top people plus another senior manager, then was invited for lunch to get to know the entire team the day I accepted my offer. They were honest when I asked what they *didn't* want in an employee (drama; selfishness).
What do you like best about the leadership team?
There's been a real focus on transparency and frequent communication, not only around the restructuring but also around the pandemic and all of the major social/political upheavals of the past 15 months. They care about employee well-being and take action to improve it all the time.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
Overall, the company is very lean on admin staff and moderately competitive with industry although a bit behind consulting in general. We get 3 weeks paid vacation upon hire; 9 paid holidays, 2 floating holidays, 2 paid volunteer days. Admin is salary, non-exempt so I can earn OT when authorized.
