I am a 30 year legacy team member who had the opportunity to grow my career and broaden my skills at UL. I started at an entry level engineering position and my career path was a winding road of opportunity and growth. Working at UL has been a wonderful journey!
What are some of the best things about your team?
Collaboration, trust and we challenge one another. We continue to work on team building to ensure we are working together. We also focus on our strengths and know that of each oither.
What makes you most happy at work?
The flexibility to work at my own pace, be creative in problem solving, and the support from my leadership team. I am my whole self at work and validated for being who I am.
What did you like most about the interview process?
While it was over 30 years ago, what I recall is that the process took a long time. Other than that the interviews were positive and a good experience. My hiring manager was professional and decisive.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The annual bonus is a great incentive for that continued push for excellence in the work that I do. I would like to see more transparency in equity at UL, particularly when it comes to comp ratio.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
We have a culture of integrity at UL. The environment in which we work is collaborative and built on trust. We may not always agree, however we challenge and support one another to be our best. Feedback is a gift.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The openness and candidness of our leadership team is refreshing. Also their forward thinking approach to OneUL and working to make that a reality. They are passionate about our mission and live the values in the day-to-day work environment. They lead with integrity, a hallmark of our core values!
