VCA – I've worked for VCA for probably about 8 years, and over 10 years at my current hospital. After 10 years I was sent a plastic badge and a letter saying thanks. I've been given one bonus that everyone received one year, and it was about $200. Let that speak for itself. | Comparably

What would you improve about your company's interview process?

Don't lie. Have integrity. Don't exhaust your most skilled employees.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

Organization skills. Hiring more qualified staff. Keep veteran staff instead of pushing them out. Learn why you bought the business instead of squeezing it dry.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?

That's proprietary and don't want to reveal my experience. I have a lot of experience and am treated as someone they're trying to weed out.

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

My interaction with the pets and clients. Interactions with staff is toxic. I'm just trying to provide good service. The drama, wasteful spending, and lack of common sense in relating to clients is why this place isn't peaking.

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?

Everyone is tired of the corporate skeleton shifts. They aren't loyal. They could use a better manager and more common sense. Our manager locks her doors and we hardly see her. It feels like a dictatorship. When VCA bought this place it felt like diplomacy and democracy.
