I'm new, and again, I'm a contractor, but I really feel like overall, it's been a great experience that fits my life right now and makes me feel like I'm making a difference.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I liked how supportive the interview process was, and how encouraging everybody with whom I interacted was.
What makes you most happy at work?
Helping kids and learning about their lives in China makes me really happy. I love feeling like I'm doing something important and real.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The leadership team is transparent about their goals and their methods, and constantly updating teachers on new policies, upcoming changes, etc. I feel very in-the-know, even as a contractor.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I'm a contractor, so my compensation isn't really a "package". That being said, I appreciate that if you work, you get paid, and that you get paid for showing up even if your student doesn't that day.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I'm not on a team, really, but as a teacher, I feel like we're all on a team in spirit. The Huotong is a great space VIPKid has created for us to share ideas and resources, and everybody's really generous with their time.
