Good place to retire from
I'm not sure about anyone else, but I just needed a job. It didn't matter where, I had to make a living. I chose to try Walmart because it is solid, they are everywhere, and there's lots of things a person can do for work at Walmart. If I can't perform my regular job duties for any reason, they will find me something to do.
Wal-Mart is one of the fastest growing retailers and offers a lot of possibilities for growth as an individual.
How helpful was your Sales team when you were first hired at Walmart?
Extremely helpful
I received very little help with the exception of a few employees.
They gave me wrong information, and laughed when I got in trouble.
What's the office vibe like at Walmart?
Terrible. I have never seen such a negative environment.

I have been there too long. They would have to fire me to make me leave

They fired me because i applied for partial unemployment when they cut my hours all the way down

I'm a CSM. We are constantly understaffed period we get very little support from management. I feel like an army of One.
Giving incentives for associates to strive for. Financially compensating those that do. Pay differentials for stepping up and working hard
Our managment team is a bunch of bullys.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved at Walmart?
Your job gets eliminated and you lose your pay
Toxic management, lazy ass people, to much red tape, too much by the book, a raise every 6 months would be cool,and there is much $$$ wasted

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation at Walmart?
Left out on to many minimum wage raise's. New hires make wthin 40 cent to the same amount after being on thE job 7 years
better pay for long term workers, the health ins coverage does not pay for a lot of things or has a very large amount that we has to pay
Older associate are treated differently. The younger ones stand around or hang out with boyfriends or friends. There is favortism.
How often do employees get raises at Walmart?
Not often,but today I was told that corporate needs to approve it first which I don't believe. Plus Im not on there good Gracie's as we speak.So I'm pretty sure a raise won't be here anytime.Just being honest that's how they work.

Management at our store really doesn’t give you any feedback except when you do something wrong then you are called into the office and told about what you did wrong.
Feedback can be used to support you and your growth at Walmart, developing you into a positive contributing employee, or used as a tool to twist the nature of your experience with individuals or your job role. It depends on who's writing the feedback and their motive.

Being stressed
I knew what Walmart was like but was desperate for employment. What I didn’t know was how cruel the customers can be.

Depends on whom you work underneath. Sometimes never.

I haven't had the opportunity to utilize that program.
None that I’m aware of you work at the store. Not sure about warehouse or home-office individuals.

PTO is earned based on your position and tenure.
PTO is ineffective because you must have approved from management before you can use it

Online grocery pick-up. It's rolling out to all stores after success in test stores. The difficulties is the Wal-Mart culture regarding in store management and hourly associates.

20 years ago and I was so I application interview with the manager if your light received a job offer or not

What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better at Walmart?
Meetings are rare and not a lot of information is put out in them anyway
poor performance needs to be addressed across the board. Those who go above and beyond need to be treated more fairly. stop favortism
Striving for excellence is a goal but there is no incentive.

Upon management approval employees can request off on days the company has available
