Been here for a few years now, and I have to say I have mixed feelings. We have overall nice employees and management in the store I work, to the point we all feel like family! However, salary is poor with only 10 to 25 cent yearly raises and in order to be full time you MUST be in management.
Those of us employed at least a year get vacation hours at the start of every new year.
It was quick, to the point, with not many curveballs. Didn't take more than 10 minutes tops!
The leadership team in my district at Weis has always been so nice and guiding during my time with the company, especially Wendy Sokol. She is always so kind and supportive and encouraging instead of being hard and critical!
Although there is some gossip/horseplay/cell phone overusage with the young ones under 30 (millennials and Gen Zers) on the front end that irritates customers/employees alike, overall everybody gets along well with each other and is willing to pitch in to help when a department is in need of it!
Management or part time, for being a multimillion dollar company, Weis has among the worst pay/raises of the local big grocery store chains and totally could pay everyone more cash. These days, a dime to a quarter raise per year just ain't cutting it, nor is lack of full time for non-management!
Stan and Mandy are very accommodating and try their hardest even when the going gets tough, such as when there are low sales and lack of hours for part timers. They both try to encourage us to keep our heads up when we're having rough days! They also make an effort to help good ones move up in rank!
