Mr. James P. Shaughnessy, also known as Jim, Esq., has been Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Workday, Inc. since August 2011. Mr. Shaughnessy is responsible for Lenovo 's legal, corporate governance, security and government relations activities globally. He served as Vice President of Workday, Inc. Mr. Shaughnessy served as the Chief Administrative Officer of Orbitz Worldwide Inc. from November 2008 to August 12, 2011, Senior Vice President and General Counsel from July 9, 2007 to August 12, 2011 and also served as its Secretary. Mr. Shaughnessy was responsible for managing Orbitz's legal and government affairs departments as well as its shared services, including corporate communications, human resources and security and compliance. Mr. Shaughnessy oversees the legal and regulatory matters that impact Orbitz Worldwide business and its global portfolio of brands. He has more than 25 years of experience as a strategic legal executive handling legal matters for leading technology companies. He served as Senior Vice President of Lenovo Group Ltd. since August 17, 2005 and also served as its General Counsel from August 17, 2005 to May 2007. Mr. Shaughnessy was responsible for Lenovo 's legal, corporate governance, security and government relations activities globally. Mr. Shaughnessy served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary at PeopleSoft Inc. He served as Officer of Peoplesoft Inc. He served as a Key Advisor to PeopleSoft's Board of Directors as it responded to Oracle Corp.'s unsolicited tender offer for PeopleSoft. Prior to PeopleSoft, Mr. Shaughnessy served as Vice President and Deputy General Counsel of Hewlett-Packard. Prior to that, he worked with Compaq Computer Corp. and managed both companies' international legal operations. He started his career in the technology field with Digital Equipment Corp. and was responsible for a range of Digital Equipment's legal affairs, including litigation, compliance and antitrust activities. Earlier in his career he was in private practice in Washington D.C. with Hogan & Hartson and Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine. Mr. Shaughnessy holds both Juris Doctor and Master of Public Policy Degrees from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science from Northern Michigan University.
