I get excited for work. I love the culture, the people, and the w/l balance, but at this scale we need a high-performing product. The comp is so much better elsewhere the good talent leaves. This leaves ok workers that produce a good not great product, but ok scales exponentially worse than great.

I'm able to focus on projects that interest me and develop a broad skillset at a self determined pace. If I get into something I can work for hours on end, but I never feel an obligation to work overtime.

My team is terrific and young. We have innovative thinkers, proactive PMs, and great personalities. The problem is all the young talent is planning on leaving for higher paying positions and only the people who can't get more competitive offers stay.

My TC is simply 40% less than the companies I'm looking at moving to. The culture is great, and the people are pleasant, as is the management team, but there's no equity and the base is low. Talent retention won't improve without more competitive comp.
