Leadership is great at asking for things, asking for MORE even. But they're not great at giving us the tools, talent, or direction we need to achieve the ask(s).

Hearing instead of talking or listening for what they want to hear. They could have more balls and less no's. Put your money where your mouth is.

For my function specificially, it would be helpful if we were led by someone with a background in the function. You shouldn't be able to be a C-level executive without any past experience in that area. They should also understand the reality of how people work in our area.

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I think there needs to be a level-set for employees who have been in a role or band for a while compared to what new hires are getting at the same level.

Salary is still not as competitive as the position is in the market although the benefits are way better and the environment motivates me to keep doing my best to achieve better roles and a better compensation

We have too many silos and not enough collaboration.

There are pockets of the organization that are arrogant and/or have toxic leadership. Those pockets make projects not only difficult to manage, but demoralizing to work on.

There is too much arrogance and power-grabbing for effective collaboration. There is a wide disparity of power between certain organizations, and that pits teams against each other in a way that didn't happen here five years ago.

The effort to include remote workers has fallen drastically.

Marketing is a mess. There have been multiple reorganizations and each one is touted as the best way to approach marketing. Each reorg requires a 180 in how teams work and that slows down and stops progress. The reporting structure in Marketing is messy and vague with changing expectations.

I think Asurion is experiencing growing pains. We're trying to do too much ourselves. There are agencies, consultants, software and other types of offerings that can help with things like marketing, search optimization, legal services and more. The answer isn't always a shoestring, tape, and a body.
