Since my department moved under Joe Billante it's been a decline in almost every aspect of the position. From meaningless projects; to fighting over expenses. This part of the business will always be hurting to obtain and retain talent as long as it's under the CFO.

The role I was advertised was listed as 10 to 20k more than what I was offered yet I have the exact same responsibilities.

Setting clear expectations. Understanding what they were hiring for and what they were not hiring for. Doing a better job at onboarding new employees. Having clear documentation and processes.

There were a lot of very talented individuals working on some hard technical projects. Their knowledge spread through the entire department. Unfortunately, they were laid off to help the bottom line next quarter.

I think if Barracuda was not fully remote it would have very little going for it at this point. Our customers and the industry do not think highly of our products anymore. This is most likely related to putting operations on the chopping block which effects the quality of our products.
