Negative. I have never come across so much blatant disregard from management. The company is a lie.

Leadership. The 'leadership' team lacks many things. Leadership, communication, knowledge.

Too many things going wrong. It can be improved by someone taking charge.

Overall, it was nice. Interviewer was polite and got back to me when he said he would.

Far too understaffed. Department management stays on the floor and doesn't help with customers unless repeatedly asked to or having to call store management.

How about having some leadership skills? People skills? Management skills? Don't play favorites and start treating everyone equally. Maybe Safeway could not hire felons to manage departments.

How about leadership? My department got a new manager a couple of months ago. If I thought things were worse before, it pales in comparison to now.

We could be a team if some members would stop talking trash about others (sometimes to their face). What they're doing isn't more important than what I'm doing.

There's not enough room to explain why I feel undervalued. Some form of compensation would be nice. Yes, the benefits are good -- but they're not worth it.

If they are not the right fit for the department, they should be moved elsewhere. For the most part (at least those I work with the most) they're decent people.

Many reasons. Management lacks communication and people skills with customers and employees alike. Over worked and under paid. All I ask is that people do their jobs and not ignore customers.

Managers who micro-manage make us feel like we are not important. What would make me feel better is having a manager who actually does the work they expect everyone else to do.

Certain coworkers and very few customers. It isn't often but they can be the most positive thing about Safeway. Far as environment goes...when management clocks off for the day, there is a collective sigh of relief.

I feel undervalued by both management and customers alike. They treat the employees as though they're lower than the dirt on their shoes. There is nothing Safeway will do to compensate any employee for their feeling unappreciated.

Management, management, management! They need to lead and not boss. Set the example you demand of your employees. If you're not willing to come in on your day off to help me, don't expect me to help you out.

Some coworkers are great -- we get along and work together. Others....not so much. The longer someone has been with Safeway, most get a sense of superiority. It needs to stop. They are not better than anyone in the department or the store.

Do a complete change in management. Some departments need it more than others. But someone who is qualified and actually knows what they're doing....not bring in someone with no management skills or history -- or someone who has been with the company for four months -- and put them in charge.

Not as though Safeway listens let alone follows through, but take some action with some people. If one person is not doing their job, it should be addressed. If another person is doing the job of two or three, don't punish them for being behind. Give them a reason to want to stay.
