From my first interview, I knew that UT Health SA would be the best move in my career so far. My goals were to find a mentor with that I could learn and be challenged to grow and to find a work culture that was fulfilling and inclusive. So far UTHSCSA has exceeded my expectations!

Overall, my experience has been amazing. The organization cares so much about the mission and employees. However, I feel that there needs to be more transparency between leadership and those below them. The pay gap is also enormous when it comes to similar or same-position positions.

They care about our mission and goals and want to produce work that isn't just the bare minimum. They want their work to exceed expectations.

How inclusive everyone is. I do not have a PhD, DDS, or any other titles, but our team at the School of Dentistry still respects my opinions, thoughts and ideas. I am still heard and respected equally.

Everyone is so kind and brilliant. You can tell that everyone on the team is here to help our department, school, and institution as a whole. We all want our students and faculty to succeed, and provide excellent care for our patients.

I found out that I do not make the starting salary for my position by asking a director from a different team what they start my position at for their team. There should be more transparency of salaries across the department, especially for positions with the same titles/descriptions.
